CURRENTLY
Science and Education Coordinator onboard MS Roald Amundsen
You can find me working onboard Hurtigruten Expeditions MS Roald Amundsen - the first hybrid power expedition ship!
I organize our onboard education program including lectures, hands on demonstrations, and our Citizen Science program. I also support our international research collaborations by collecting samples, providing logistics support, hosting guest researchers onboard, and maintaining NIVA´s FerryBox system - a passive oceanographic device built into the ship that measures: salinity, temperature, oxygen, Chl a, turbidity, and dissolved organic matter.
I have been on Amundsen since 2021 and have been to Antarctica, Alaska, and everywhere inbetween!
I am a joyous coastal and marine researcher with a passion for working towards well-balanced management of our planet's resources. I'm educated as a Natural Resource Manager, Physical and Human Geographer, and Biologist with research experience ranging from mountain tops to sea floors, the Caribbean to Greenland, and microscopic critters to massive ecosystems.
I use photography to document the glory of the ecosystems and environments I visit, and I am thrilled to be able to share my gallery and prints with you. All images on this site (without me in them) were taken by me!
I love combining my extroverted nature and deep fascination with the world around me through formal and informal education and teaching. I have an engaging and responsive pedagogy that I have developed through numerous employment and volunteer positions.
Adventure is the fuel that keeps me smiling. I have wide-ranging field experience as a researcher, photographer, tour guide, and explorer. Safety and skills development are always my priority.
